I did the 3rd gen swap and instead of lee inserts I found a high pressure hose with the proper male fitting on the steering box end. However when I went to torque it down the hose did not seat and is lose. I dont dare run it as I know the pressure in there is great. Can I just use a standard O-ring, there is not that much play in there and I think this would be all I need get it to seal. As you can see I dont know that much about power steering couplers and the guys at the autoparts store should be selling groceries not autoparts... TIA :hurray:

Im still confused but after more reading I think that this is what the lee adapters are for? Is to allow it to seat?

Sounds like you have a mismatch. Whatever hose you found, if it is indeed an O ring type end, should have come with an O ring *if* it is the correct 18mm end.
The O ring will not make the connection tight I don't think, the O ring will keep it from leaking.
Make sure you bought the 18mm O ring end hose, and not a flare end hose.
The Lee adaptors are to fit flare ends (orig 1st gen style) to the O ring (late style) mate on the IROC box.

I used the lee inserts and they worked great.
