Thanks. I thought about all black, but I have similar trim on the door panels. The rings are polished aluminum and the inserts are aluminum irrigation pipe! Gotta use what ya can!

Get one of those lunch box coolers or a small playmate cooler and cut a piece of wood with 2 holes that wedges 1/3 of the way into the cooler.

Yes, in my infinite wisdom I measured from center of the front to center in the back- then cut. Always measure twice then cut right. Yeah, the lid angles so its not quite even, but what the hell, it'll still hold my coffee. And yes, the lid does still open and close. Actually, that's why they aren't dead center- the hinge is in the way! Thanks for the comments. I just wanted to try something different that had function. I know its not perfect, but that's not the point.

Nice job.. but please resize your photo to around 800x600 so its not at large. Scrolling side to side and up and down makes it hard to really appreciate the end results.
Here is mine, I could paint it black if I wanted too but I keep the steel lid in the trunk and just lay it on top of the cup holders at car shows :thumbsup:

Its a 4 speed, but shouldn't have any issues shifting- so long as I don't have a huge Big Gulp or something in there.

Anyone ever figure out why the shifter only has one side from that clip?

the guy modifed the console cover so maybe he modified the shifter to look more customized?

I like the concept ! I had been thinking about looking for a console out of a later model to get cup holders but after I bought the manual shift plate for my console that idea is out for a while. I might look at something like you did for my 67.

I have been thinking lately, and i don't do it often, but the gum commercial cup holders may be a photo chop type deal and when they did it, they missed the arm on the shifter, just a thought....

I made this one today with 10.00 bucks and a little velcro.

Auto Zone. I just put velcro on the bottom of the holder and a little piece on my console door. You have to play with it to make it sit level because of the curve on the console lid.

Who needs a cup holder I keep my beer between my legs.The cup holders look good though....

Its to hard to try to keep up with the car with a drink between your legs. I drive the sh** out of my car, the speedo is always over 70. I gotta change those front brakes before they get me killed!! Took my wife and daughter for a ride the other day, and neither will get back in the car.
