I have a 68 Coupe.... Original Color Ash Gold exterior and Ivy Gold Interior.

The dash pad that is in the car now looks to be the original, but is not the same color as the rest of the interior which is Ivy Gold. It looks to be a very dark green.. The upper dash by the windshield is also painted a dark green, also original.
I purchased an OEM style vinyl wrapped pad from NPD, but it is a more yellowish gold than the rest of the interior and does not match at all.

Should I paint the pad the original dark green color? (not sure of the original color code), paint it the correct Ivy Gold color, or just replace it with a black pad?

It looks like none of the reproductions come in the dark green color....

I would think painting it the Ivy Gold would not look as good as there would be no contrast....

Not sure what to do....

Sorry for the late response. Paint it dark green. It'll be hard to get a match, but the original dashpad is dark green/gold. The upper dash panel is darker than the rest of the ivy gold interior and is flat/suede finish.

wow, I just noticed this thread was a year old LOL! Oh well for future searchers.

Todd, NPD has the paint. Just ordered some for my '69. Besides, the factory painted them, so it's actually correct. At least they did in '69. Not sure about '68.
