I have a black set of 69 camaro seat belts that are kind of rough. I found a place on the net where I can buy new webbing in red, I have white seats and red carpet so I was thinking about going with red belts. All the webbing on the belts looks like it would be ez to replace except for the front retractors. Has anybody here dissassembled their retractors and reassembled them with new webbing?????????? I see somebody is now reproducing the retractor covers. I'm just wondering if its possible to replace the webbing on those retractable ones? I have an uhpolstery guy who can resew everything. I was going to paint the buckles and dye the new covers. Thanks Steve

I took my retractors apart to clean and tighten the springs, It's not that hard....I would recommend that you soak them in hot water to soften the covers; that will make it easier to remove the retractors.
