I put my buddies 15 x 8" wheels on my car and they look great, however, I want a different type of wheel. The wheels I want are 8.5" wide and I'll be running a 274/60/R15 tire... It might touch my shock mount... Once I mount the wheels, they are mine so..??.. Anyone??... Thanks

I know 69's can run a 275/35-40/18 on a 10" rim without issue, but the bs needs to be dead on.
The 18" tire has a spec of 26.7" overall dia, and the 60/15 is pretty tall at 28" add that to the fact that the sidewall will bulge out on the narrower wheel, and you may have some issues. I think it's possible but very tight.
I would suggest getting the tire first and mocking up to see if it will fit in there fully tucked. Of course if your suspension is high and doesn't compress into the wheelwells, then no issues.

Like Rob said, the backspacing is critical to getting a 275 tucked in the well.
I'm running a 275/50 and it just barely squeezes in with the trimming I did on the quarter panel well lips. I'm running an 8" wide wheel at 5 1/8" backspacing.

Thanks you guys  I find the tire/wheel thing both confusind and exhausting.. Just simple math I guess, but once I start second guessing, it all just runs away..lol.. I think I will just go ahaead and get the two piece wheels in 8". I know they fit. The 8.5" are one piece billet wheels which are beautiful but I guess I don't really need them... Thank you very much!!...
