Is this an aftermarket steering wheel? Anyone know who makes it or one like it? I really like the way it looks.

Sorry I can't answer your question but I bought that same wheel used on eBay about 1 1/2 years ago. Ordered the exact same horn button from Rick's. The steering wheel had no markings or numbers on it anywhere so I doubt it's GM. Good luck, and I too like the wheel alot.... greg1ontheedge May 30th, 08, 09:16 AM I just looked on eBay and there's a Grant wheel with the exact same spokes. It's woodgrain, not black. Try Grant's..... bertfam May 30th, 08, 09:25 AM It's a 1969-1975 Corvette and 1969-1975 Buick "Cushion Rim" steering wheel. Available aftermarket for around $150.00. You'll also need the install kit and the hub, also available aftermarket. That particular one looks to be the 1969-1970 Buick version with the "Thumb Groove". Ed DjD May 30th, 08, 09:25 AM It's the "cushioned rim" which is RPO NK1 and was said to be available around April '69 but is believed never released for production in a Camaro. Found on Vettes and many Buicks where several colors were used. It's a great wheel for the '69 Camaro though... JD4020 May 30th, 08, 09:29 AM Thanks guys.. Steering wheel is one of those items that you don't know how it will look, until you see one in a car. I think I know what I want now. Thanks again... chuck69ss May 30th, 08, 09:45 AM I think that I've also seen that also referred to as the 'Comfort Grip Steering Wheel'. Microgiant May 30th, 08, 10:30 AM I also believe you could order them on Impalas back in the day. DjD May 30th, 08, 11:58 AM I think that I've also seen that also referred to as the 'Comfort Grip Steering Wheel'. Very commonly used name for the wheel, I think derived from the comfort-tilt steering colume name. DjD May 30th, 08, 11:59 AM I also believe you could order them on Impalas back in the day. Could be but don't ever recall hearing that before... bertfam May 30th, 08, 12:16 PM I also believe you could order them on Impalas back in the day. Correct, but only for 1970. Offered on the Chevelle, Monte Carlo and Full Sized cars. Ed http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h52/bertfam/1970.jpg |
