Anyone have a recomendation for a good center dash bezel ('67 with AC)? I bought a Classic Industries repop from Rick's and it's so flimsy I think I can bend it by breathing on it, and it doesn't fit very well.

I bought one from classic industies that dosnt fit that well either.I still had my original,so i flipped them over to see why the new one wouldnt fit.On the original on the back of the chrome trim,it is hollowed out.On the repro it is flat. Therefore not clearing the shapes in the dashpanel.I will maybe try a dremel on the back of mine.:)

The Ricks panel is better than the Classic Industries panel Not sure how you got one from the other??? I purchased the Classic Industries panel and it was like tin foil. The stamping of the grain pattern was also terrible. As brendan 67 said the chrome around the edge will have to be tweeked to conform to the dash but you will want to play with this (bending it around) before you paint it. Ricks was much thicker and higher over al quality.

Get a good used GM bezel. They are on eBay pretty regularly.

Mark's right. I ordered bexels from both Rick's and Classic, wasn't happy with either, and my car's just a driver. Watch eBay, ask very specific questions relative to quality (pix can be misleading) and buy the real thing used.....

The part number from Ricks was CDP-54. I am not sure of the manufacturer but you could call and ask them -blue and white box. I do know the one from Classic Industries was a OER part and it was pitiful. I have pictures of the two parts side by side as returning parts especially with quality issues is a pain in the butt! All I can say is the part from Ricks was much higher quality with regard to durability and stamping. Now keep in mind that I was ordering a radio delete non a/c so maybe Ricks uses two different manufacturers for those. I have pictures of both side by side but here at work I cannot access an outside photo source and my home computer is down. If you leave your email address I will send you the pics.

mine came in a blue and white box... pretty sure it says Classic Industries on the box. Maybe I'm confusing Classic Industries with Classic Headquarters??? I have both the radio delete non-AC and an AC with radio (decided to install a repro AC vent). Thanks for the pics, btw. Mine look like the "left"/better one in your pics.

I have an original '68 woodgrain non-AC bezel too, but it's not so great condition, and I wanted to switch to black. The factory panel is made out of two layers of metal, one for the structure, one for the trim. It's a lot thicker than the bezels from the blue and white box.
