So I had my car media blasted. And obviously there are alot of cracks and crevises for excess media to collect in. Well I had to repair a small portion of the inner rocker and boy was there a large amount of media in there. I was wondering about how guys get it out. I tried the shop vac but the hose is too big. I tried blowing it out but thats not good enough. I thought about cutting out portions of the rockers to vacuum it out. Anyone know of any attachments or small vacuums powerfull enough to get the media out? I imagine the media has the potential to wreak havoc when it comes time for paint. Thanx

an air compressor with 100psi behind it removes stuff like that for me.

This on page 7 http://www.1969supersport.com/restoration.html shows a tool that works for a chevelle, it takes a while, I use all the air pressure I can get and supplied air while I'm doing it.

I've been told you can't ever get it all out, but a restoration place I know leaves the car on a rotisserie and will roll it and vibrate it for weeks to get as much as possible out. I think that is really the only drawback to having a car media blasted is the mess that stays behind.

When I did mine, I used an assortment of attachments to my vac and air hose. The small copper tubing you use to hook up an ice maker to your fridge worked well to fish up inside the rocker and blast with air. I also used some smaller, maybe 3/8" diameter rubber hose and duct taped to my shop vac.

I rolled my car over and side to side many times on the rotisserie vacuuming and blasting with air. I think I got most of it, but like others said, I'm sure I didn't get it all.
