We will soon be installing full quarters on our 69 project. How do you get in to weld the bottom of the quarter to the rocker panel between the door jamb and the wheel well? Go in through the hole inside the car that you use to install the window regulator? Not a whole lot of room there to fit the MIG gun in through.

3M Or Fusor panel bonding adhesive
BUT.......You can actually weld it from the back side like you describe quite easily. Not a lot of room, but doable.
Good luck..............

I was able to stitch weld the edge of the 1/4 to the rocker in this manor. I'm not sure that I'd be comfortable doing it any other way.

If you drill some holes in the flange in the bottom of the quarter and the brace on bottom in line with one in the quarter you can plug weld it with your mig to the rocker. Once you get the new quarter between the brace and rocker with the holes drilled it's not that hard to do.

Done it twice now. Did it from the outside and grinded it a million times till it looked right.

Might try what I did. I did 4 spot welds at bottom by turning
up my mig welder and held the gun on top longer till it
bonded both quarter and rocker. Looked thru hole and could tell
it melted into rocker. Kind of have to try it without burning thru. Do
one spot and check for penetration.
