I'm putting gearvendor o/d in my 69 and would like to hide control switch in ash tray,can a person remove the guts and re-rivet so it still opens ? I see the factory rivets are diff. than normal and don't go tight.:confused:

I put my control switch in the console in the seatbelt storage slot. Fit is near perfect. I put in the 3pt Morris Concept belts so the seatbelt slot was not being used. It is real convienient also...no reach.

I just leave mine in 'manual'. Then I shift it with the floor switch. Kinda weird for an 'auto-trany' guy, huh? And Trev, you'll be going too slow on that gravel road to have to worry about OD.;)

I modified the ash tray in my 69 in high school and put an oil pressure guage in it. It was pretty cool. That was a couple of years ago though.
