I need some help please. I have a very clean 67 Camaro with a new GM Peformance Parts Fast Burn 385 with Hot Cam Kit (~ 430 HP) Muncie 4 speed, and a 12 bolt with rear drums. I just got a used 12 bolt (3.31) and the axles are a little tweaked. The car is for street use and will probably go to the drag strip once or twice.
Which axles do you recommend and where should I buy them? Can someone please explain the 9" Ford ends on the axles? I am looking for a simple swap and prefer not to do any cutting.
Thanks in advance! Bear with me, I'm still learning.

I'd reccomend a set of Moser C clip axles I think, unless you plan on racing no reason to worry about non C clip axles and the Moser axles are great.
The Ford bearings just eliminate the C clip, instead of the C clip on the inside end of the axle holding in your axle the ford ends use outer bearings that are pressed on and the retention is with the piece that fits over the bearing on the outside, make sense?
Non C clip axles are safer at the track but C clip type are perfectly fine for a streeter/ occasional weekend warrior until the rules make you lose the C clips.
Stay away from overseas axles is all I say for sure imo, get Moser, strange, etc. if you don't know ask them, I know Yukon are made overseas and they are real common and inexpensive.

Moser is the way to go. Have a set Custom made with the ends for a 78 Trans Am with Rear Disc Brakes. This way, if you ever decide to upgrade to a rear disc setup, you already have the correct axles.

I´ve used axles from Toms diferentials in my last two rears one with c-clip axles and one with ford ends and 33 splines axles http://www.tomsdifferentials.com/ Summit has some cheap axles Us alloy many axles are made by Foote axles and renamed to other brands. If your going to stay c-clips I would go alloy axles from Summit 215/pair http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=ALY%2D12110&N=700+4294925084+115&autoview=sku.

I bought a set of the Moser C-clip axles for my 12bolt and thought they were a very good value. Be sure and get some new quality wheel studs while your at it and a set of Timken bearings, races and seals. Don't buy them from NAPA though unless you want to pay double prices. I found the install process to be fairy simple in case your're thinking 'bout doing it.

So a set of 78 Trans Am Axles from Moser will fit and allow for future Disc Conversion?

Another vote for Moser. Get the Moser stock replacements, you'll be fine.
