I ran the stock linkage when I had a carb.

i don't mind the stock linkage with solid motor mounts. there is no 'torque over' with the engine that may bind and become a serious safety issue. i think it feels better (as in feedback to the foot), too. that is what i run on the camaro. my 'bird had a cheesy throttle cable setup that i replaced with a lokar setup. it works well, but i can feel the cable rubbing on the threaded end of the outer cable. it's not real bad, and if i cared enough i would angle it through the firewall. i run rubber motor mounts and wouldn't want a solid linkage on that car. just my $.02.

Original linkage and original mounts. Interlocking of course. You can barely see the engine move when on the chassis dyno. Awesome.

I had the stock rod and rubber mounts and had my throttle stick a couple of times. I change to the cable system and solid mounts and fixed the problem.

I'm kinda new to this carb thing(ls1/TPI on my other cars). I have a 68 camaro that I'm upgrading to a 4 barrel carb. My question is how hard is it to convert to throttle cable? Where to buy the kit? thanks for the help, and sorry for jumping in this thread

Lokar has the parts. Check Jegs or I bought direct from Lokar.

If you want a stock gas pedal you can find them on the 75 up Novas, Venturas, Omegas. Just look at the pedal on the inside and see if it mounts the same way and has a metal rod on the top for the cable attachment. It also is held on thru the plastic firewall bracket with a " C " clip. I found mine in a junk yard for 5 dollars.
