i bought these new rocker switches that have lights on them. I'm confused as to how I should wire them because there are prongs for 3 wires on the backside. Could somebody please clear this up for me?

one should be power in one is ground and one is power out to what ever you are trying to control. Just remember they are not made to handle a lot of amperage. Hopefully you are using relays, and the switch just operates the relay, I know because Ive melted a lot of wiring and switches. Live and learn.

One of the prongs is a ground for the bulb.

i got 30A rocker switches so hopefully they should be up to the task

I got 4 swithes and so far all i got to wire up is my electric fuel pump(got a relay for it) and my 2 step off my MSD

so center should be 12v then then the outside 2 will be ground and what i'm using the switch to switch on/off

The three connections are for;
a = power (voltage in)
b = ground (for indicator light)
c = feed to device being switched (voltage out to load)

The back or side of the switch should have a diagram showing the circuit through the switch.

(boy, it's amazing - you don't see any replies, start one, stop to answer the phone and viola 4 replies before you :D )

If they aren't marked and you have an ohmeter you can find the hot wire and load wire and the one not affected by the switch will be ground.

What are you trying to operate with them? If you're not going to use relays(bad mistake), then you need to know the exact amperage draw of each accessory you are operating with them. It is highly suggested that you use relays. They take the "grunt" of the electrical work and the switch is left to simply turn on/off. Much Much Safer that way. The worst thing is to have to replace wires after they catch fire(as me how I know).
