I've read various data sheets form differing sources that either say to set timing at 29degrees total all in at 3,000rpm and others that say 32degrees. I'm currently at 32 and all seems fine but wondering if I should go down to 29 or 30. Anybody else? Also what times are you running w/this engine in 1/4 mile?
Mine has a 5spd. w/3.73s; street tires; performer RPM manifold, MSD, 12-Bolt posi, At 5,500ft. above sea level (where O2 is fairly thin) best time has been 13.9s which would equate to about a 12.9 at sea level. I can't get traction though on take off so have to leave at failry low RPM or will spin the "bejeeezers" out of the tires. I realize I need to get some drag-radials but only take to track a few times a year. How bout others? Any tips on ZZ383 tuning that have worked well?
