Hi all,
My name is keane and I have a ? that probably has been asked but I couldn't find what I needed in search so here goes. I have a 92 RS with a 305 and I believe a 700R4 with a BnM shifter on it but not sure don't really know much about the car just that I love it. I was driving down the road slowed to let a car turn, and when I accelerated it would not shift into 3rd so I stopped. I then went through all the gears and tried again nope still no 3rd. Now I checked under the car and everything seems good nothing leaking or not connected. I checked the fluid and Its dirty but full. Heres the thing It goes fine in first and 2nd but at around 2500- 3000 rpm in 2nd it just revs up but if I floor it it accelerates around 4300 rpm tops out and will not shift. I hope I don't need another tranny and can fix it by draining the fluid and giving it fresh fluid but probably not. I hope some of you fine people can help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

That's the sad thing about the 700R4. It isn't a particularly strong unit, although it can be built stronger for $$$

It would be worth while to have pressure test done on it. If the TV cable is fouled up or if something causes the line pressure to drop, the transmission may not shift.

So I ordered a BnM rebuild kit with the shift kit for it should make it nice nice woo hoo.
