gents, I am getting ready to start my resto on my 70 rs/ss and I need some sheet metal, was wondering what years of camaros and firebirds have the same sheet metal doors/core support etc. found a 1979 formula which is pretty clean and was wondering if this would work for any of the stuff I need, any help would be appreciated, thanks mike

Trunk lid for sure, drivers side front floor pan as later models had provisions for Catylitics and probably did not have recesses like the 70 for dual mufflers and sub frame connectors, not certain about the doors. Bet the guys at NastyZ28 will have all the answers. I'm fortunate that my 70 Z did not require panels. Note that a 70 sub frame and control arms are specific, the ball joints are 69 Chevelle and the steering column and wiring is identical to the 69 Camaro. The 70 is the most difficult Camaro to restore because a lot of the parts are specific for 1/2 a year. Good Luck :o))

The doors are the same from 70 to 81 camaro or firebird. 70 to 73 fenders are the same.

The doors on 2nd gen Camaro's will not interchange with Firebirds, they will bolt on and fill the holes but the body lines will be off by a couple of inches.
