Hi guys. This is my first Camaro restoration (a '69), so I'm fairly new at finding resto parts for it. Upon my initial internet search, I am finding that there's a TON of places out there for Camaro parts (at least a ton in comparison to less popular cars like a 442). While I have learned from other cars that no one place is the best for anything (price-wise, at least), I was wondering what places you would recommend out there.

I've checked out Rick's, GroundUp, Classic Industries and Firewheel Classics. Anyone else?

Thanks.

I like Firewheel classics, very responsive, and Ricks does good considering they are owned by Ecklers.

The only supplier I have had trouble with was Hearbeat City.

You know I gotta plug one of my sponsors here... Classic Industries. The in stock inventory is amazing. Some places wait until there's an order in hand before they'll stock certain items and with the economy the way it is right now, I imagine that practice is going to become more common...
"Thanks for calling Bob's Parts and Accessories. Can I take you're back-order?"l:)

Classic Industries is running their 20% off sale. A lot of other resto houses get parts from Classic as well.

I have many suppliers in the past 5+ years. One thing to consider is were the suppler is in relation to were you live. I have found that a closer supper at times means more reasonable shipping and faster delivery times. Also, http://www.belairbobs.com/ has great customer service and reasonable pricing. Some of the others that I have used are:

Ground Up
Ricks's First Gen (now ecklers camaro)
NPD
D&R Classics
Classic Indudtries (pretty proud of thier shipping - I find thier shipping costs high)
Year One (very proud of their stuff - I find them a little price high)

Like you said, there are plenty of places out there, but this are the ones that I seem to have had pretty good luck with.

I like Rick's mainly because often times you have choices on the "same part", as well as provided the supplier(s) of the part. Well, all repo parts aren't the same and many of the catalogs aren't specific on who the part is made by. They list the generic part and you get what they have. Not saying that everything repo is great, certainly not. But there is a lot that is better than others.

I've used BelAirBob and he was great. We were able to discuss about how I wanted the higher-quality stuff rather than the junk (when applicable)

I used Belair Bob -- great customer service and good prices -- I also used our sponsor -- Ground Up for a lot of items as well -- 10% discount for Team Camaro members

I agree with Don on the Sheet metal...Muscle Car Metal...http://www.musclecarmetal.com/home2.asp

For resto parts I have only used Firewheel Classics and NPD...Free shipping with an order of $300 Between both of them I have not been disappointed...
