I've had my Z (correct 302, 4 speed) about a month and am just starting the repair / restore / rebuild process. I'm planning on staying close to original, but it's missing the original distributor. Any thoughts on using an MSD Billet Dist. with a 6al box and and MSD coil?

The MSD distributors are nice, however, they are exensive. If you decide to use a stock looking distributor I would install a Pertonix electronic conversion, if not get an HEI. The MSD box is a good idea. As for wires how about the black Accel wires, they are similar in appearance to stock.

I run MSD setups in both my Camaro and Chevelle and I am happy with them. Distributor is the non vacuum type, but otherwise they look pretty close to stock. If you were to replace the dist cap with a stock looking quality black one most people would not even notice, unless your talkin' show judges. For the ign box you can also hide it and remove the MSD decal from the coil and your all set. Good Luck
