I have been looking for a 67 to build. I want to do a good car, but I am in no hurry and I want to do a total restoration. Then when I am finished, I know everything will be right. Here is the question. I found a car that is only good for the trim tag and vin number. It has the original title. The car was wrecked years ago, and stripped of all of its parts.
Here is the info. It was a '67 rs/ss l78 car. The car still has the black tail panel and the black stripes along the bottom of the car. The car is not restorable. What would it be worth just for the tags?

Could you give the VIN# and Trim Tag info?

How can "everything be right" if you're planning on swapping tags and vin to build a fake L78?
It is tremendously illegal to move a vin tag from one car to another.

Its worth about 3-5 years with the possibility of parole in 2 years.............

I never mentioned moving a vin tag from one car to another. This car was found in the process of looking for a good car to restore. The guy said he was going to haul it off for scrap. I just hate to see cars crushed.
I guess I can offer scap price then.

Then why would you just want the trim tag, VIN and title? I dont mean to be implying anything guess I am just missing the point?

If the firewall and cockpit cage is still in relatively good shape why not strip the sheet metal and replace it all? You can then keep the VIN & trim tag on the same car.
