Sold!!!! I got it...what a deal it is at a 1/32 scale...JK. Seriously, it must be a scam unless it is a divorce that the wife got and is unloading it to piss off the husband. Ask them to see it in person.

I saw it on the San Francisco Craigslist yesterday. I've seen photos of that car before and as I recall the seller was asking for a lot more than that for it.

Just showed up here on the twin cities Craigslist, scam. At least on our Craigslist the scam ads are flagged and deleted within minutes. I find Craigslist to be extremely useful and I use it all the time...

While just like EBay there are scams on Craigslist, there are pretty good deals to be had as well. I bought my 69 Camaro off Craigslist, since I wanted something local I could actually go see then to the transaction.

I have a dumb question about these scams I see...how exactly does the person doing the scamming make money running an add like this? seriously? I've never been involved in one of these scams so I really dont know, what is the next step this guy would take if someone made an offer or contacted him about the car?

They bait the victim by telling them others are interested in the car, but if they (the victim) wire them a money order as a deposit, they'll hold the car for them.

Maybe I'm being"holier-than -thow"...but why would anybody wire money to someone they dont know for something they have not received?

Because they think they are going to get such a "deal". When I was looking for my car there were a ton of people that would advertise their cars in one region, then you contact them to see it and their response would be something about it now being in NY (or some such). But they would be happy to have it shipped to you if you paid them in full...

Yeah right

Same car, same scam, just how does this guy get away with this so many times without ending up in jail? It seems like at least one or two people would be mad enough about losing the deposit to file charges.

I have flagged this post several times, and I bet some of you have also.
So why hasn't CL removed it?
They are ussually pretty quick to weed out the garbage, I don't know how this one has survived.

That is a scam - that car was for sale on here a while back from the actual builder - REDBARON - if I remember his TC name correctly.

I ran an ad on Craigslist to sell a 68 Camaro... it didn't take long till a scammer contacted me. It was the usual, "My assistant will deliver a cashier check, once it clears...." he didn't even ask questions about the car. I asked him by email why he wanted my "72 Camaro". he sent back "because it's my favorite muscle car".... SCAMMER!

When I get those kind of emails I just hit the delete key. I don't even bother responding to them.
