How in the world do you get the header bolts tight? I have a 69 with a 350 with A/C and Hooker Competition headers (1 5/8"). I'm using shorty header bolts with 7/16 hex heads, and I still have trouble getting to the back bolt on both sides.
For those of you wandering - yes my right side header was almost touching the floor board and the left had plenty of clearance. I used an aluminum bat and pried the right one down.

ARP header bolts have a 3/8 hex, making it a little easier. I like to use a Matco stubby combination wrench.

I don't have air but what I did was use a 7/16 combination wrench and got them as tight as the little guys leverage would allow. Then I take a bigger wrench and slide the box end over the 7/16 to increase the leverage. You end up with kind of an "L" shape and you can take little bites at a time. The back bolt on #8 I used an alan head as the 7/16 wouldn't fit. I also did the larger wrench trick on the alan wrench for added leverage. Take your time and try to keep the bolts fairly even as you go (don't just crank one tight and move to the next).

Sometimes you can get a clear shot at the rearmost bolts from underneath the car. Don't know about AC, though.

crowfoot socket. used to dread putting the back header bolts in until i got a set of them. real time and knuckle saver.

I use one of those short thin Craftsman 7/16" wrenches that has two open ends with one end turned 90 degrees from the other.
