View Full Version : Possible stolen car I think? Pretty likely, should I call?
.Bad75. Jun 25th, 08, 06:22 PM I dont know if I can or what not but does anyone know if you can just call in and ask if there was any specific type of car stolen today and then give a description of the people that were driving it? I was at the light and this black mustang was there across from me facing me and runs the red light when we have the green light just as our green comes on, the passenger wasnt wearing his seat belt and the seat was tilted back and he was looking back and around franticly and the drivers eyes were bigger than a bulls gonads, both didnt fit in with the car...something just doesnt seem right. Two african american teenagers, didnt seem old enough to drive, ran a red light, seemed frantic to get off a major street and scared. What do you think?

Thanks, I even wrote the stuff down so I wont forget lol. I know what its like to have something stolen from you. I am leaning towards the conclusion that my 80 berlinetta loaded with all the options is still rolling around somewhere...so I too know how it feels.
camaroman7d Jun 25th, 08, 07:26 PM Touchy situation with no more than you saw who knows what was going on, maybe nothing. You didn't see them steal anything you "think" it looked out odd. Maybe they just stole gas from a gas station and was trying to get away that's why they ran the red light. There could be a million things, if you were concerned you should have followed and got a plate number or better description (IMO). If it was a 200X Mustang with Calif plates it should not have started with 1Z on the plate (unless the plates were vanity). You can tell they weren't old enough to drive but, do you remember what they were wearing? Young male drivers do stupid stuff sometimes. Who knows maybe hey burned rubber around the corner and were nervous, who knows.
If you see an actual crime you should report it and write down as much info as possible. If someone is in your neighborhood and looks suspecious, then by all means write down info, that's what I do. If you want to make a citizens arrest on them for running the light then that's what you should have done (not sure you can do that for a red light violation thought).
At least you made an effort, these days people will watch someone get stabbed or shot and won't do anything. I just don't want to see two innocent "kids" (if they didn't do anything) get run through the ringer. I have been there and it's not a good thing.
Badbird Jun 25th, 08, 07:33 PM The next time something like that happens, get a license plate number and a description of the vehicle and occupants along with the location and call 911 on your cell phone to report a drunk driver driving erratically!.....The Police don't want to hear your assumptions so just tell them the facts!:thumbsup:
.Bad75. Jun 25th, 08, 08:55 PM Well ya never know! I tried heh. A furd burning rubber...I thought the only rubber they burned was the occupants shoes pushing the furd...
