YouTube - The Air Car jr68 Jun 26th, 08, 09:41 PM It sounds good too , I wonder how the big block version would sound like ? DHONDAGOD Jun 26th, 08, 10:27 PM Ok, I dont care who you are.... Thats cool.... Chris:cool: angelglo Jun 26th, 08, 10:39 PM id like to buy one for my daily driver. with the money i save from gas, i can buy heartbeat's zl1 Chuck Jun 27th, 08, 06:50 AM Let's see, it takes electricity to run a compressor to fill those tanks. Where does that come from? Power plants that burn fossil fuels. blue ss Jun 27th, 08, 07:08 AM Let's see, it takes electricity to run a compressor to fill those tanks. Where does that come from? Power plants that burn fossil fuels. Chuck The car is step one , making the power at home is step two. Im sure we will be pluging in at home for this stuff off the grid. In Time. You are right tho cant burn coal for it, but at least , at least the money stays here thats more important now. I supose with this car if you run out of " fuel" you could whip out the bike pump ha ha. rojo Jun 27th, 08, 07:34 AM At some point in that vid he said it could be recharged/recompressed in 4 hours four about $2.00, not bad. click Jun 27th, 08, 07:47 AM It makes too much sense to be real doesnt it? But why not start the engine by starting a compressor to fuel the engine, then the engine runs the alternator to run the compressor and the cycle is endless. Maybe Im over simplifying but I like the concept of the car. Wonder if duals would sound cool? :D MREMCHN Jun 27th, 08, 07:51 AM Aloooonininum! Cracks me up! Whatever it takes to save the gas for our classic cars. I'll drive econo-_ _ _ _ boxes operated on air, electricity or whatever to keep our classics running! alanrw Jun 27th, 08, 09:12 AM How do you heat/defrost those things in the winter? Might be a problem in snow country? ;) alan markfromark Jun 27th, 08, 10:03 AM If these air cars hit the market, I wonder how expensive air will get all the sudden? Camaros-n-Chevelles Jun 27th, 08, 10:26 AM If these cars hit the market and our need for oil decreases, we will be hitting OPEC right in the wallet. blue ss Jun 27th, 08, 10:30 AM If these air cars hit the market, I wonder how expensive air will get all the sudden? There will be a cost per breath charge plus tax clwilcox33 Jun 27th, 08, 10:34 AM If these air cars hit the market, I wonder how expensive air will get all the sudden? That was funny, I just couldn't think of any equally comedic replies at the moment ;) lol  68DaveV Jun 27th, 08, 10:36 AM Remember when gas stations first started charging for air? There were lots of jokes back then. 3SuperSports Jun 27th, 08, 10:59 AM The reality is oil will get very cheap again when demand goes away and if oil is cheaper than whatever the new technology is, we'll be right back at square one. I like the idea though. alanrw Jun 27th, 08, 01:20 PM There will be a cost per breath charge plus tax Don't laugh, the way things are going, some souless corporate entity is probably figuring that out even as we speak. A tax for air based on the government's "efforts" to clean up the air and minimize global warming. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense, we already pay for water and sewer service. I always tell my boys "we are paying for sewer service, make sure you really need to use it :D" alan jr68 Jun 27th, 08, 05:10 PM When you buy gas you are also paying a tax which funds many things like build roads etc. that will in turn have an effect when that money isn't coming in as fast as it used to when gas consumption goes down so you can bet they will find another way to get it like tax the air you buy. ky67camaro Jun 29th, 08, 06:36 AM i went to the indy zoo yesterday and i do believe i saw one of these driving around downtown. it was so small...but yet cool:cool: yellow69RS Jun 29th, 08, 07:52 AM I just returned last weekend from Niagara Falls Canada. I think their whole park system up there runs on alternative fuel vehicles. I wouldn't mind "commuting" in a tiny car if I wasn't sharing the road with semis and full size trucks. I wonder if one of them can haul 4X8 sheets of drywall? Jeff paulm Jun 29th, 08, 09:04 AM I likey! pdq67 Jun 29th, 08, 09:14 AM Question?? What does it take to pump air up to 5,000 psi? I had a homemade Scuba Tank compressor years ago that went to 3,000 psi. pdq67 |
