I went to the Fillmore last night to see Billy Idol and I must say it was a great show. Billy looked and sounded great . The drummer Brian is awesome and of course Stevens on guitar shreds, the band was tight.... I admit I am a bit biased because my cousin is in Billy's band but when you go to the show you realize almost every song this guy had in the 1980's was a hit.
Billy just came out with a greatest hits CD with a few new songs and one of them "John Wayne" was written by my cousin and the drummer. It is actually pretty darn good and would probably have been a hit in another era... that being said my cousin told me after the show that the song is already #15 on the German charts...me being who I am said , " well I guess Hasselhoff hasn't released anything new then" :)

If Billy comes to your town and you want to see him let me know... I may be able to get a few comp tickets for fellow TCers

I actually have one CD of his :D. What I really liked most about "him" was the excellent recording productions & dynamics on his works.

They have a documentary of him on cable, I watched it a few weeks ago. Hes definatly a interesting person. And I admit I used to listen to him when I was younger.. Also Liked David Bowie.

He's been on Howard Stern's show before...great interview. What it must have been like to be him in the 80's!

You must not have ever seen a Billy Idol video in the 80's....If you were to wear parachute pants to one of his concerts you would probably get thumped... what you did use to see is lots of very hot women dressed in mini skirts or leather and personally , I like that...

The show last night had people from 14 to 60 and everything in between. Saw a lot of well kept women in thier late 30's and early 40's that looked pretty smokin.. what do they call them these days.. Cougars ?

I heard him live in studio on a morning L.A. radio station a couple years ago. He would talk awhile then do a song etc and was very talented live. Alot of those guys were only good in studio and sounded like crap live but he was really good live.

Van,

Had caught Billy's show in Vegas at the Hard Rock just before we moved to N.C. . Was a fun night and your cousin did a great job.
