So far no bridges burning over here, but the years not over.
Cutting rail is critical though. You know how far sparks fly while cutting rail. We have a deflector with 2 guys watching with shovels & 2 with the old indian pumps standing by.

Dropping boutets is a little better but 1 spark is all it takes. You saw how fast that double main bridge burned down in Sacramento last year. Scary!

We do have a 30 car derailment at portland where I-84 & the I-205 meet. Ugly!

The smoke all over cal. is very, very bad. I hope we never see a fire in this canyon here, it could take this whole town out, not to mention some first gen camaros.

We do have some mid-west tie gangs over here working because there's nothing for them under all the water. I've seen alot of Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, & Kansas plates on UP rigs.
When that water drops, there's gonna be alot of work! :)

The NoCal. skies are a LOT clearer today thanks to a good on-shore flow over the last 24 or so hours

I learned to cut rail using a sharp cold-cut, a spike maul, 5 gallons of ice water and a couple of short track jacks! Cut onna the suckers in 10 minutes, easy and then use a 2-man hand-drill to bore the holes!

But this was back when "Fred and Barney" worked on the RR!! He, He!!

Glad it's all cool up to now!
