Got my '69 on the road today, first time in a few months!! We had a nice day here as well, so it was a top-down blast down the freeway!!

Seven months ago I had a 210 HP 307 and a sick powerglide with a 3.08 pegleg. I got a sweet deal on a brand new Fast Burn 385, and installed it along with a TCI Streetfighter T350 and a B&M Holeshot 2400. I ran it through the stock exhaust manifolds for the summer. A huge improvement over the '07.

An Eaton positraction allowed me to roast the tires from here to kingdom come...but it was a tad on the doggy-side at low RPM's. No BBC-like torque here...so a set of 3.73's was next on the list...very nice.

Wanting a tad more power, I picked up the LT4 Hot cam and 1.6 roller rockers, and made the cam change early last fall...still through manifolds. A nice improvement, but the manifolds were killing me. And as luck would have it, the pan gasket was leaking and pissing me off...

So....out came the motor...it went back in with a new pan gasket along with a BTOD TH2004R...oh yeah, and a set of 1 3/4" Hooker Supercomps. The trans install was pretty straight forward, but the headers were a pain. Believe it or not, it was the pass side that caused me the most grief...mainly due to the fact that the header interfered with the factory steel fuel line. Also, mating them up to the exhaust system on a convert was an exercise in patience.

But driving it today...man, this thing scoots!! What a trip!

BPOS out.
