Now that my 67 is getting old, it's time to blueprint it and make it run like it should have all along. I'm looking for suggestions. Here's what I have in mind but I'm open to better ideas.
Standard blueprint of the block including 0.30 overbore, decking, line bore, etc.
Silv-o-lite pistons for 10.5 to 1 CR
Eagle Rods
Edelbrock Performer RPM Cam
Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold
Change valves from 1.94 to 2.02's
cc heads plus port and polish
Fluidamper balancer
Hooker headers

Plus all new ARP bolts, new flywheel, centerforce clutch--basically the whole nine yards.

I'm looking for reliable and streetable 350 horsepower with a strong responsive power curve from 1500 to 6000rpm.

I'm not a kid so wild idles and nonsense doesn't appeal to me. Solid pin your back to the seat performance does.

Consider going with vortec heads since you are buying a new manifold anyway. Carb size 750cfm? Torque plate bore (hone) the cylinders. Consider a roller cam if you have the $$. Degree the cam when installed. Get the ceramic coated headers.

If the motor is not original then consider a HO GM crate engine. They are available in a variety of horsepowers and come with a warranty.

Forget the iron heads if you can afford some aluminum heads. Port and polish the iron heads with new valves and you are half way to new aluminum heads. The flow out of the box will be better than the old ported heads and you will have the advantage of lower weight and the ability to raise the compression with out the worry of detonation.

I agree with Joseph, Air Flow Research has awesome heads that flow great out of the box. As far as cams most of my drag race buddies say that rollers arn't giving them enough gain for the dollar, and recomend using a good solid lifter cam.

I agree on the head, as well. I use edelbrock performers, the best grand I've ever spent. If you like computers, think about EFI. I have a Holley pro-jection 4DI, it's great.
