Ball joints, bushings, tie rod ends. Pitman arm, idler arm and the like. I've got a shop bid of around 1270 and the parts price is around $470 for standard part replacement. (The rest is labor and sales tax)

I'm looking for recommendations and experiences. I'm not a total neophyte (I've replaced 3 other front ends, but none on a first gen.) I'm leaning in the direction of poly, and I know there are a number of kits out there (I put a PST kit on my 3rd gen, and it's been great)

PST has a kit for 399 plus 105 for the Pitman.

I've tried to search on this... maybe I'm using the wrong terms.

The car is a 69 w/a 454 and a turbo 400 with a high-numerical geared 12 bolt.

I'm looking more for road manners then drag racing.

Since this car started out life as a 327 2 bbl w/a 'glide (I think), I'm sure it probably has the standard ratio power steering box.

There seems to be a large difference in front suspension parts. I just went through some of this after buying a "kit" from Rick's. Theirs are the chintziest (is that a word?) parts, at least the ball joints. After discovering this, I replaced all 4 ball joints with Moog.
I would suggest going with Moog all the way. Just buy them one piece at a time from Rock Auto or some discount place. That way you can get Poly or OEM control arm bushings from PST or whoever. Maybe someone sells Moog kits, but I haven't seen them. I even went to NAPA to order the Moog ball joints. They said they had them and for a good price, but when they brought them out, they were a Moog "equivalent". Long story short: All suspension parts are NOT created equal. Hope this helps.

It's been a few years but I got my complete kit from PST, all parts best I can remember were Moog or TRW. Be sure to ask.

Most if not all the parts can be bought at your local Parts places too.

Moog for ball joints, tie rods, idler arm. I think GM still has pitman....
Use rubber or delrin (del-a-lum) controal arm bushings. poly squeek. Some say they don't, but do you want to risk it?
Do the subframe bushing too if you haven't done them already. Poly or solid here. (poly under rad support IMO.)

Since you've got it torn apart do the g-mod.

Get a modern spec alignment (check david pozzi's website).

You'll have a much improved road manners car.
