You better have your rearend jacked up or you'll be cutting the crap out of those 255's. You would want 4.5" minimum, 4.75" would be better.

Mine are 4.5" BS, 17x8 w/255/45/17, on a 68.
They are right at the edge, but centered up well. Not tucked in, but they never scrape.
I'm gonna put 275's on the same rims soon.

4.5" is centered in mine.
Wheel mounting point at drum to inside wheelwell was 6" and from same point to wheelwell lip was 5".

275/60/15 fit great, My old 285 McCreary's rubbed on the inner wheelwell on hard turns and off camber bumps.
