Living out in the west with very little humidity has taken a toll on my door weather stripping. What company is best here or are they all the same with differant names?

Thanks guys.

They are not all the same. Do a search here—there is lots of reading.

I purchased mine from Classic Industries and they are too stiff. I installed them this winter and my doors wouldn’t shut all the way. I thought I needed to scrap them and buy a softer set. Then, as it warmed up (above 50-degrees), I was able to close the doors. But I still need to slam them.

I have tryed both soft seal and Metro. Hands down Metro is the way to go. JMHO I have a 67 with softseal and a 68 with Metro. The 67 will be converted next winter to Metro.

I had a glowing report from a friend of mine about the new latex ones available from OER (Classic Industries). He has a 67 and purchased the cheaper brand from them first. He could not shut the doors. He took them back and got the latex ones and all is well!

I've not used the new Latex seals but have heard good to mediocre reports by those who have. I know that they were about 2X the cost of regular repro seals...and that was half the complaint ...logic being that at that price they should fit like GM but don't.

I'll probably try them out soon. Does anyone know if they make them for 2nd gen as well

OER latex from ricks worked great on my 67. Doors close much easier.
