Does anyone know if I can use the original style alternator brackets for small block V8 avail from Rick's? I have headers and a Weiand intake right now, and I am trying to restore the A/C as I go. I am not sure if the OE bracket will attach to my intake since there is no thread on the front of the intake. Maybe I should use the Z28 brackets? Any suggestions?

I have P/S too and have not seen many pictures of the original configuration. I'm pretty sure the alternator and P/S pump will be on the driver's side together (which is not how it was configured when I got it). I'm also not sure if there is a P/S adjustment bracket that does not attach to the exhaust manifold.

You can use Rick's bracket using only the water pump bolt. Or, get a '66 and older upper bracket and use it as it used the water pump bolt.

Power steering does not attach to the exhaust manifold. A plate bolts under the engine mount on the block and a cradle bolts to the front two bolt bosses on the engine block front.

RE: Alternator. Thanks. I think I will try the original bracket.

RE: P/S. Do you mean this bracket?

Do you happen to know of any pics of this setup? I have not found many good pics of an original engine compartment for a 67 with A/C and P/S.

Thanks again,
Derek

Your suggestion would work. I'll look for the bracket(s) I am talking about.
I can't take pictures of mine as I'm in Lima, Peru until the end of the month.

This is almost like the one I have, this bracket uses the the two front engine mount bolts as mine fits between the mount and the block and has the slot in the same location.

In this setup can the alternator lower pivot mount to the head or do I need this thing?

Right now I have something that looks like this:

The OE lower mount is simuliar to the F-bracket and it bolted to the exhaust manifold.
The combo you shown is for a exhaust header set-up.

The bottom item is the spacer between the alt and pass head on a 69 & up set-up with a long water pump.
