If they're the polished service replacements, I'm not aware of a proven method to re-create the original surface texture. :beers: tdb11 Jul 13th, 08, 05:58 AM That's what I figured. They are polished service replacements that have aged. Thanks for the confirmation, and yes, Jerry would be best for original reskins! Gambitt Jul 13th, 08, 03:41 PM Jerry can reskin polished covers...he took a set of those and made me a set that looks original...at least on the outside. They have the drippers on the inside. Good for old carb bodies etc All gunge cleaned off 1st RamAirDave Jul 14th, 08, 12:30 AM Ive restored several sets of "dull" VCs myself. http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=120865 http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=2916.0;all 68z28sd Jul 14th, 08, 08:03 AM i have found that blasting them with plastic media does a real good job of cleaning covers. no pitting in aluminum leaves a clean dull surface. |
