OK... I have most of my wiring issues straightened out... but this one stumps me.
All the exterior lights work as they should. The wierd problem is this:
When I hit my highbeam button, the D/S headlight goes completely out.
It's a halogen. The other light (P/S) goes to highbeam with no trouble.
Could this be an internal light problem? That is, a screwed up headlight?

Bad Floor Dimmer Switch.
A bad dimmer switch would have an effect on both sides not just one. Its a bad bulb. You can test it by putting the right bulb on the opposite side and see if it goes out there too :)

It might be a bad ground or bad connection at the headlight but it sounds like the high beam is burned out on one side.

The simplest thing is definitely the lamp. Sometimes the filament falls from its position and you don't see a blackened bulb because there's been no burning inside the bulb. I would check the bulb first. And I agree that a dimmer problem would show up on both sides.

Thanks, folks! I'll try all those options out and get back to you, starting with popping in another headlight I've got laying around.

I had sorta the same problem recently. I'd push the highbeam switch, lights would go out. I went to Autozone and bought a new switch and pigtail connector for less than $10. Works great now.

I misinterpreted and though he said both lights went out when switching to Hi-Beam but he is saying only one light goes out so I would think it's a bad bulb, socket or ground related.

Just one little thing more. Be sure to NOT touch the bulb with bare skin. The oils that leave fingerprints shorten the life of halogen bulbs because of their heat. Rubbing alcohol is all you need to wipe the bulb after service.

Well, it absolutely was the bulb. It's just a standard headlight replacement non-halogen to halogen... but the bulb was the culprit.
Thanks for all your input!
