I see different 67's with the antenna either on the front fender or the rear. Does it depend on the car? Options? Mine is on the front fender. Was this supposed to be a fixed length or a retractable one? It just has an AM Radio if that means anything.

I read some where that in 67 the rear antennas were only dealer install. The factory installs were in the front and I think they were all fixed length. I know mine is a original factory am radio with a front mounted fixed lenght antenna.

Rear Mount Antenna was RPO U73, only available with AM. According to CRG spreadsheet, just over 32,000 67 Camaros were so equipped.

All rear antennas were manual. I believe you could not get RPO U73 if you had a deck lid spoiler unless the deck lid spoiler was dealer added.

From what I am aware of, no D80 optioned car (rear spoiler) had a rear mounted antenna.
I guess that they would interfere.

Both correct, but because Dave was asking about 67, I left it out since no 67 was equipped with a spoiler at the factory. The spoiler does hit the antenna mast, but I have seen plenty of first gens with a rear antenna and rear spoiler. I guess the owners just learn to live with the contact and figure out a way to open the trunk lid without bending the antenna (just push the antenna down??).

I have a 68 with the rear antenna and the rear spoiler. The spoiler will contact the top of the antenna. It has not caused any problems but I would not open the trunk and let it swing open because it may chip some paint off the spoiler. Did it come this way from the factory? I don't think so.

no rear spoilers in 67 never a factory installed rear antenna with a factory installed rear spoiler. AM-Fm cars are the only ones with a fixed mast antenna

My '67 RS with an AM-FM radio has the fixed length antenna in the front.

The rear antenna was an option in 67 and will appear on the trim tag of most 67's as a "S" in Group 2. If you have a "S" then you should have a rear antenna. No "S", front antenna.
