I need a new alt and I'm looking at a powermaster 140 or a 100. Will they both draw the same horsepower with equal loads? I dont really need 140 but thought I'd get more thinking it would last longer. I have electric fans that draw 50 amps but no other real need, possibly more later on I guess.

X2:thumbsup: It's a direct bolt it..... I have spal dual fans and with the lights, heater and wipers on my gauge won't flinch. All total I'm pulling 58 Amps. it's a good alt and looks nice too.

What you have to remember is, an alternator is only going to put out what it needs to in order to keep the engine running and at night, to keep the battery charged as well. It very rarely runs at full output and if it does, it can only do it for a short time. Too long and it burns up.
