seller told me they have 60.5cc heads(?)
and 1.94/1.5 valves.

are those ports flowing good? i want to compare them with a set of 461 heads with 1.94/1.5 valves and 64cc heads.

any help is appreciated, thanks

Imho after cc'ing my -601's, I would say they are decent heads except they are probably lightweight which limits the planing of them and just maybe shim headgasket selection after planing from what I am learning daily about stuff like this..

Shim headgasket selection thing b/c of the way the sparkplug water trough moulds sides were shaped, hard to explain AND I don't know if it even applies to this head..

The problem that comes with the old -461 heads is that they cost as much, if not more then a set of new big valve, W/P's SR Torquers after all that needs to be done to them to bring them up to daily driver spec's is done due to unleaded gas use now, that's all..

I have a set of big valve -461's so know b/c I looked into converting them.. I have read several places that double-hump heads can run from like you say, 60.5 cc's for the little valve heads all the way up to mine cc'ing at 66.+ for the big valve heads due to the factory unshrouding, combustion chamber plunge-cut.

I honestly think you will need to cc a chamber or two and at least an intake port to see just what the heads potential really is..

PS., and don't forget about the 305 Vortec head PN 12552520 or the regular 305HO, -601 head for a 305 motor..
