I found my build sheet when I pulled my gas tank. It is in pretty bad shape but I was able to match the vin with the sheet.
I want to know if anyone might know what these codes mean;

Interior= Z
exterior= R
speedo gear= OB ADA
Wheels= 10
size= FC
radiator=ZA
Hub= AN

thats some of the suff we were able to read.
The car is a 69 RS.
Would the ralley sport code be on this sheet and what would it be coded as? where can it be found on the build sheet?
thanks

On a Chassis broadcast sheet, box 161 = R for Rally Sport

When I found it I was pretty excited. I told my wife, sister-in law and daughters about it (they were the only ones at home at the time). They thought it was no big deal and that I was over reacting. They just dont understand.

I bet if I told them I just found a 39 year old gift certificate form Nordstrms above my tank they would be all fired up!

Should I cut it off the tank to save it. Its in pretty bad shape??

Whenever I tell my wife anything about my Camaro, she gets excited--just not in a positive way!! :)

Deluxe interior
Axle is a 2.73
Car had full hubcaps originally.

What's the build date of the car and any idea what engine it had originally?

Well, I know it was a v8 based on the vin but I dont have the original engine. VN is van nuys
The 02 C would indicate Feb 3rd week.
Does that sound right?

It may be pretty easy to narrow down the engine.
1 or 2 fuel lines?
mono or multileaf rear springs?
10 or 12 bolt (original?)?

mono leafs ..10 bolt & one fuel line out of the tank..... 307?
It has a colum shift (thats getting pulled out)

Yup, sounds like a 307 car.

Kurt, since if my 69 (10C, 69) started life as a s/b and it had dual fuel lines, then it was definitely a 350? I never knew how to determine if it was a 350 or 307. It did have a column shift 3 speed automatic gear indicator in the dash, so I knew the tranny.

Only cars after 1/1/69 with 2 fuel lines are SS's. Only small block with 2 fuel lines after 1/1/69 is an L48. All other small blocks had a single fuel line.

just took my tank off and no find... still holding out hope under the dash. that's cool news though. my daughter teases me about stuff like this... until she realized she is only a few years away from driving and sees how people react to my car. I think she, mistakenly, envisions herself driving her buddies up to the mall. KEVIN: best part of your story is: "They were the only ones home at the time"! that's classic.

Did you take any pics of the sheet on the tank ?

Okie, I sure would not have even bothered with them (females) if my son was home. He would have understood - he just rebuilt his 69 chevelle that he had in high school. It could have been a true father/son moment.:beers:

I did take pics but I will have to get help in posting them. Will put them up soon.
Was going to cut it off the tank but took it off with a razor. Did not come out so good but you can still make out the vin and tag codes with some of the codes.

I put it in a plastic bag and hung it in the garage on the wall. The wife would not let me put it on the wall in the livingroom above the family portrait.:mad:

I just pulled my tank and the build sheet was in pretty bad shape and very fragile.
I could not read it under normal light. Then I thought what about uv light.
So under uv light and a magnifying glass I could read most of the sheet.

Does anyone know where you can get a blank sheet as I would like to replace it as part of restore for some one to find long after I am gone.
