I Have Had My Origional Bumpers For My 69 Z Stored In My Utility Building For Over 20 Years . I Took Out The Rear To Mount Back On The Car . The Chrome Looks Great But On The Inside There Is Surface Rust . What Is The Best Way To Restore It To Its Natural Finish .
Thanks In Advance For Your Ideas .
Ben :)

Do a search for "safestrustremover" or try their site. It is a solution that dissolves rust chemically without harming anything else.
You could tape up everything and sandblast but it is a nasty process that can damage the parts and you if not careful.

I had some as well... so just wire brushed as well as I could... little emory cloth, some elbow grease... and coated with zinc/aluminum spray...all seems to have held up, and that was over six years ago.

I used brass wheel wire brush on my drill, sanded good and treated with POR clear paint. 2 coats. looks good and wont have to touch it again for years. :)
