92 z28 /700 r4, tpi,305. want 2 put headers on it , can i take off all the smog crap ,and anything else that does`nt have to be there w/o affecting the computer or getting a check eng lite?

No. Buy headers which allow you to keep running the sensors for the emmision controls and you will be fine.

there is a lot of debate if removing smog pump changes anything. I have it removed with headers and no check engine light or any other problems. There is not really that much difference that computer will be seeing but it might start running leaner

Be carefule. Depending here you live you may need to ahve the smog equip still present even if you don't have to pass the sniff test.

besides, there are really good smog compatible exhausts out there..... why take chances
