Long time member, first time poster. I am currently looking for an engine for my '69 Z/28. I have a number of photos of assembly date stamps. Several stamps don't look anything like the others. How do I know which ,if any, is a fake? I was going to include the photos, but couldn't figure out how. Thanks for any help.

You need to look for more than the assm stamps... broach marks are very important as well.

Determining the authenticity of engine pad stamps isn't something you can learn in a day, although you can get a feel for it if you use the search function with "stamp pad" or "pad stamp" - that'll bring up numerous threads with photos and commentary on stamp pads. If you upload photos to a third-party hosting site (like TinyPic, Village Photo, and others), you can link to them and include them in your posts here. :thumbsup:
