I have done the Mad Electrical "New System" upgrade to the car awhile back. Now I'm wanting to upgrade alternators from a 10/12s style to the CS130.
So, My question is.. Are the wiring connections the same as whats being referenced to in the tech article. Reason I'm asking is because i have one brown wire(1), and one red wire(2), at the bladed connector ( -- ). http://http://www.chevelles.com/techref/ftecref14.html
I'm assuming that the #2 wire is not used. Could someone confirm this for me, please. Thanks for clearing this the up for me. Sonny

The CS hook up is identical to the SI Set Up. Only difference is if you do not have a GEN or Alt Light in the Dash you must use a resistor to simulate one or you will damage the CS Alternator. A SI does not require the Resistor if you don't have a Dash Light. One other thing is that you usually have to do a little grinding and use a washer to mount the CS into a SI Mounting Bracket.

You can buy a CS Connector Plug with or without the resistor, but it's relatively easy to make one yourself.
