View Full Version : Another Camaro in the family!!
JimM Jul 17th, 08, 08:13 PM Late this afternoon, my son Jake and I headed for Beloit, Wi in my vert, and brought back an 89 RS!
He finally found a full time job, working second shift... Nobody I know was gonna go get him at 2am, so Daddy bought hime a car... one last time...lol.
It's pretty nice, 43000 real miles, interior and underhood like new, no leaks, no smoke, trans shifts good, etc. Had a cheap repaint a couple years ago.
Got it for $1600. I think it was a steal.

That is an ABSOLUTE STEAL! 1989 RS Camaro--43k miles, clean for $1,600?? WOW!!! I would not be surprised to see you and/or your son on America's most wanted this weekend for grand theft larceny, LOL! Nice find! Enjoy the car and congrats! :beers:

Everett#2390 Jul 18th, 08, 05:11 AM Nice steal indeed. The things we fathers do for our kids - and still doing.
67 Convertible Jul 18th, 08, 05:57 AM Sounds like a nice car and a real good deal. Good luck with it!

Hylton Jul 18th, 08, 12:36 PM  Find him some 16" IROC wheels and he'll be stylin'!

That interior color grey and black is great! I really like that color and/or all grey for the 1989- 1992 RS Camaro's , or for 1988 - 1990 IROC-Z's...... Looks great w/ the black exterior Jim! Most I see of 1989 Vintage have the red exterior with the red cloth interior which after 19 years looks like faded paint on a red painted fire hydrant used by man's best friend LOL!! There are alot of blue cars out there too which is fine, but you don't see too many nice 3rd gen's in black anymore. Hat's off to ya and your son!! :hurray: As Tony the Tiger would say....G-R-R-R-R-R-E-A-T find!
You can easily make that car look like a 1984 Z28. The tail lights are the same for 1982- 1984 Z28's and 1989 - 1990 RS Camaro's. Add a 1982 - 1984 Z28 hood some Z28 badges and he's got a 1984 Z28 clone. He can clone it into an IROC-Z too by adding 1985 - 1990 IROC Z tail lights and some IROC wheel's.
I think it looks just fine the way it is!! Congrats sir! I hope your boy is happy with it too! Tell him he owes ya one big time!!
HarleyD67 Jul 19th, 08, 01:19 AM Jim you are starting to get too many cars. I'm not jealous because I know I can't afford anymore. (no-matter how many I want):D But before you know it your garage will start looking like this.

Remember this post Jim? Looks like your another step closer. Nice find by the way.
JimM Jul 19th, 08, 06:45 AM Hehe, never mind the cars, I wish I had "that much" garage.
It's so crouded here now that I'm keeping the truck at work.
I need to winterize the boat and put it back into storage.
