I have a chance to buy a set of wheels for a bargain price but all four are 15X8's with 4.5" backspace. I know that is OK for the rear but how about the front of a 67? Thanks

View Full Version : 15X8 with 4.5" backspace, too much for the front? Thanks Steve Rich67 Jul 18th, 08, 02:11 AM Steve I have 16X8's with 4.75" backspace on my 67 with drum brakes. Tires are pretty wide too. They are 245/45/16's. Front is lowered 2 inches. No rubbing at all. SixtyAte Jul 18th, 08, 04:01 AM Steve, I run 15x8s w/ 4.5 bs all around. I have 225-60-R15 in front with disks and they rub on hard bumps and turns. If you use 215s on the front it will be best. The wheel moldings extend into the opening and that is where most of the rubbing is. BTW, I run 255-60-R15s on the rear. Kev |
