I'm replacing the front end of my 68 ( it is a coupe with ac) including the coil springs. I've selected the 6320s to replace the 6314s that are in there now. Looking at the two coils side by side I've noticed two differences. The 6314 looks the same at the top and bottom whereas the 6320 has the last two coils on one side much closer together. The other end of the 6320 looks just like the 6314. Is this right and if so, which end is up on the 6320s? Also the winding is a bit different. If you match one of the ends of the 6314 with the 6320 you will notice that the other end wraps around two inches futher. This seems to be a problem because it almost insures that if you seat the lower coil in the pocket the upper end will be out of its seat. Do I cut off the excess or an I missing something?

Thanks

I dont know about the 6314, but I just installed the 6320,s in my 68 coupe 327 w/ac and made sure to get the top of the spring seated correctly in the upper perch per the AIM end of spring ~3/8" from spring stop, then let bottom of spring fall in the LCA where it lies, my car sits noticibly lower and rides great. dont cut anything

Icpop,

Which end did you use on top- the flat or coiled side? Thanks.

Steve, if I remember right the coiled portion will go toward the top and the flat toward the bottom, just make sure to get the spring end close to the spring end stop on both sides of the top perch.
