I just got a set of black bucket seats. The backs are metal. The ones in my car that i am replacing have a plastic back. Why the difference? I do know the ones in my car i bought out of a yard sale in the late 80's

67 seat backs were metal, while the 68 and 69 were plastic. So, it sounds like you bought 67 seats, which are right for your car.

I just never noticed the back of the seats. Shows you can always learn something new. Great i like when a deal comes together. The only thing different was the inside mounting of the plastic vs the metal.. Would the color match the console black? It could use to be painted.

The early 67 Camaro seats had metal seat backs until the end of April I believe and then they switched to plastic. Let me know if you want to sell the metal backs you have. I could use a nice pair for an 04A car that I'm restoring.
