I have a Hurst shifter that I'm trying to identify. It has a 3138 frame. On the side it says "Hurst" above the patent nos. Over to the right of that is the number 570932B stamped vertically. The shifter neck is straight but cocked over towards the passenger's side. The handle is round and pressed in. It bends about halfway up approximately 45 degrees back and over towards the driver's side about the same angle. The number on the bottom is 7244. It has a white ball that looks like two pieces? Maybe-can't get it off. The shift pattern is under a clear cover on a black background. I tried to ID it by searching through old threads but didn't have any luck. I would appreciate any help.

My book shows the 7244 handle is for a 70-78 Firebird 1970 with console only 71-78 with or without console

Thanks Scott for the quick reply. Much appreciated. Out of curiosity, what reference book are you using?

I wish it looked like the first picture but it doesn't. It does not have the offset neck and the handle has a wicked bend toward the driver. Looks similar to the second picture but I think the bend is shaper. I was told by the original owner that this setup was removed from his X22 car in 1976. The rods and lever have some stamps and markings if that would be any help. Here's some pictures. (I hope)

that trans arm is not for a Muncie
