I am upgrading my front suspension. All poly busings, new tie rods, power steering box, power disc brakes etc...I would also like to replace the sway bar. I see everything up to 1-1/8". With a small block and factory air will the1-1/8" bar be to stiff and how much differance is it from the 1". I don't plan to do much more then cruse with this car, but would like to improve the cornering.

A 1.125" bar is 60% stiffer than a 1" bar.

If your springs are stock rate, you might go with a 1 1/8" bar, but if you have aftermarket coils like Hotchkis, DSE, or Global West, the 1" is plenty stiff.

"A 1.125" bar is 60% stiffer than a 1" bar."
Only if it is solid vs hollow if I remember right.
I still have and ran it years ago w/ ADDCO 1" and 3/4" on my car and slappers!
Sure it pushed some in the corners when pushed HARD, BUT nothing a little "throttle" wouldn't take care of and boy, would it corner!!
He, He!!
I had her sprung about as stiff as a lumber wagon back then!!

The relationship is solid to solid. A 1.125" solid sway bar is 60% stiffer than a 1" solid sway bar.

I installed a 1-1/8" front bar in mine and it worked wonders. It's a lot harder to install than a 1" bar would be though. It won't slide in without removing a bunch of stuff. Details are here (http://y2camaro.com/proj/swaybar.php).

Thanks guys. I think I'll go with the 1" for ease of install. The 1" is a far cry from the stock 11/16" bar. Thanks for the link Kevin it helps allot.

The 1" is a far cry from the stock 11/16" bar.
It's about 4.5 times as stiff...
