View Full Version : decisions
angelglo Jul 22nd, 08, 09:50 PM now that my 69 is done, i have some big decisions to make. like most of you, i have several other projects waiting in the wings. aside from the honey do list, i still have a 68 camaro vert, 67 chevelle, and my 75 blazer to restore. the blazer not much of a project but does require some panels. nothing to the scale of our camaros. anyway, the 68 needs at least some patch panels but no trunk or floor pan work as they are solid. body is straight with no real major issues it has new front gm fenders that were put on in 2001. im planning on putting in a big block since i have a couple of them laying around in the garage. the chevelle doesnt need any panel replacements and might be an easier resto but its a very big car with a full sub frame compared to the 68 camaro. im thinking about doing resto mods on both like airbags, upgraded interior, etc.
which one would you guys tackle first?

I've been dreaming of a convertible for years so the '68 gets my vote!!
Decisions, decisions........Nice to have options like yours!!

captcanuck68 Jul 23rd, 08, 06:54 AM Guess it depends upon a few of factors, eh? How deep the pockets are. How much the little lady is on board. How available the parts are... we both know about the Chevelle/Camaro. How much space ya got. How much time ya got. How the neighbours are to the restoring noises/odours, etc. Which of the two is more saleable to put the $ back into the '69, as I think that's your car, right? Although if ya try a vert, you'll never go back.:) These are a lot of variables to consider.

speedfreek Jul 23rd, 08, 07:09 AM If it were me, my wife would want the Chevelle. So that's what I would do. She has always wanted one and when I get enough cash I will get her one. Plus I would like to have one too.
Ask your wife what she would like to drive. It would be more fun for the both of you to be able to work on it together.
If she is not a motor head and doesn't care well I still vote the Chevelle.
angelglo Jul 23rd, 08, 09:38 AM patrick. i think thats a good idea. i will ask her which one whe would like done. shes not motor head as she is too concerned about her LV bags.
ted, my pockets arent that deep but these cars really dont require too much. they were both running and driving cars when they were parked. chevelle has zero rust.. i dont need anymore money for the 69 as it is done and that too is a convertable. ive never actually never had a coupe until i got the chevelle. i have enough garage space and the neighbors are not a concern. as far as time. they will be again long projects and that is also why i dont need the money now.
captcanuck68 Jul 23rd, 08, 11:16 AM Then if all things being equal...I'd decide objectively, by weighing all the options, consider the pos and cons, then flip a coin. :) Although, I am just a tad biased, and would go with the '68 vert. Two Cams is better than one, eh?

ryry Jul 23rd, 08, 01:07 PM I would prefer to change it up a little and do the chevelle. Since you've already got a vert done, why not tackle the coupe so when its finished you can take your pick of what to drive. But, just like patrick said, if it doesnt matter to you, see what the wifey wants...

Havin' Fun Jul 23rd, 08, 02:26 PM Wow, not showing much love for the Blazer around here....lol
I think it would be nice to have to make this type of decision.
angelglo Jul 23rd, 08, 02:52 PM ok, i asked the wife. she said to do the 68 vert. reason being, eventually these cars will be going to our kids. 3 girls 7, 4, and 2. the 69 is going to the oldest, the 68 to my second and the 67 to my youngest. all 3 already knows which cars are theirs. the 4 year old already has a complex, yeah, at 4, and every once in a while, she says "i wish i was born first". well, i guess it would only be fair to do the 68 for my 4 year old. so, here goes another project. wish me luck.
captcanuck68 Jul 23rd, 08, 04:22 PM Just don't have any more... you know what:)... or you'll be buying still more cars, eh?:)
