I just picked up an '88 IROC for the motor that is in it (305 TPI) and it has the rear in the vehicle. The RPO list in the console lists the original code as GU2 (with G80 LSD). I have been trying to nail down exactly what the GU2 gears are and it seems like it should be the 2.42's but some of the internet searches I do shows some as 3.42 or even 3.73, all of these are differing years in the 3rd gen Camaro range (1982-1992).

Does any one here have a list that identifies the GU2 rear axle code ratio?

i looked on mitchell. 1982-1992 model camaros it isnt listed on any year. is that code on tag or axle.

Not on axle, it is the RPO code on the tag in the console.

RPO GU2 - comes up as 2:73 geared rear axle on my GM parts screen.

Thanks for the input. Was hopingthat this rear was geared differently but I guess its a 2.73
