I got a pair of these that i put on my car. Checking to verify 2 things. The ones i have are the ones that go above and below the rear bumper. They are clamped on the top of the bumper.
1. on the clamp it has a " O7 " or a " LO " Does this represent 1967?
2. The ones i have seen have a black rubber strip that is attached to it, kind of a small rubber bumper guard. The ones i have don't have this or even the holes to mount this strip. Any reason??

Sounds like you have the early 67 guards. These were different than the later ones with the rubber inserts.

I got these from a guy that had a July 67 L78 camaro. These were on his original bumper which is on my car too. The guy has since died and am not able to ask him. I didn't know if these guards were original on his car or not. If i were to guess i would say yes, everything else was. I thought it might deal with the blacked out tail panel?? - guessing? I have the info from his cowl tag would that show anything?

Check to see if there's a 5B code on the trim tag. That will at least tell you if the car came with the rear bumper guards.

Does the O7 or the LO mean anything or am i wanting it be 1967
The 7 or L just has a straight back on it and is this a dating code?
I am probably making this more difficult than it is. If you turn the LO upside down that is on the top clamp.

The "LO" (or "07") might be some kind of supplier stamping, but I have no idea what it means. The lack of the 5B code indicates that the car didn't come from the factory with bumper guards, so they may have been dealer added or added by a prior owner.
